Q:         Will ZigTech apparel still work when covered by layers of clothing or indoors?

A:         Yes.  Products enhanced with Celliant fibers do not have to be next to the skin in order to work.  The effectiveness is not diminished by covering or layering for cooler weather.  Therefore, Zig apparel works   indoors and out.

Q:         Do ZigTech products need special laundering?

A:         No.  ZigTech apparel is based on fiber technology.  It cannot wash out or wear out and it will last the life of the garment.

Q:         Do the effects of Celliant fibers work immediately when worn?

A:         Yes.  Celliant  fibers starts to work immediately and the effect generally increases the longer they are used.

Q:         What testing has been done to measure the increase in oxygen in the body?

A:         There are two clinical studies conducted by Celliant that measured the oxygen levels in subjects wearing shirts infused with Celliant fibers and standard polyester shirts.

Celliant™ fibres used in ZigTech apparel are specially-formulated technical performance fibres that are knit or woven into fabrics. Products containing Celliant have been clinically proven to enhance oxygen levels in the body. Celliant fibres are created using a collection of optically responsive natural minerals that get infused into polyester fibres.

How is ZigTech different from the competition?

ZigTech is unique in that it brings two clear benefits together that previously had not co-existed: increased efficiency and cushioning.  Historically, the footwear that performed the most efficiently for an athlete were track spikes.  The trade off for improved energy return, however, was a loss in cushioning.  With ZigTech, however, the unique zig-zag structure of the foam and the dispersion plate successfully links these previously incompatible benefits: increased efficiency and cushioning.

What activities is ZigTech recommended for?

ZigTech is a multi-purpose training shoe perfect for any mid to high impact training activities.   In addition to running, ZigTech does provide the necessary support and stability required for conditioning based training activities.  This versatility reflects the way men and woman train today with variation built into both their life and fitness routine.

Can I Run in ZigTech? Is this a running shoe?

Yes, ZigTech is a running shoe. Efficiency, softness, “quiet” ride and feel, lightweight and flexibility are all benefits that real runners are looking for in their product.  Efficiency has long been a desire of serious runners for their race day gear (running flats).  With ZigTech, athletes get more efficiency without the sacrificing the cushioning and feel of their training shoes.

Why is the foam shaped like a zig-zag?

The unique geometry was conceived based on the principles of a “slinky”, where energy flows along both vertical and horizontal axis.  Instead of a single isolated heel impact and energy return, you get multiple smaller impacts and energy returns along the entire length of the bottom.  The zig-zag shape, in tandem with the midfoot plate, distributes impact forces more evenly.  This full-foot energy return promotes a feeling of “propelling” forward with every step.

What kind of foam is used on ZigTech?

Reebok’s MJ14 3D Ultralite foam compound is a proprietary injected blend of ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) foam and high grade rubber.  This foam creates a soft, lightweight feel and ride.

Why is there a plate between the midsole and the upper?

It is a lightweight/flexible Dispersion Plate which minimizes micro-vibrations and evenly distributes peak forces.  The plate also mirrors the ground, sandwiching the “zig-zag” midsole.  This allows forces to bounce up and down and along the midsole “zig-zags.”  In addition, the dispersion plate provides additional support and stability.

The Men’s Zig Pulse shoe is 11 oz or 312 grams. (Other models will vary dependent on design, materials, etc.).

ZIGTECH FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGY EXPLAINED

Everything about Reebok’s ZigTech technology is designed to conserve and return energy to the athlete for a soft and springy ride. The one-of-a-kind ZigTech bottom unit features an innovative, lightweight foam that is engineered into a dramatic, geometric, zig-zag shape.
